Think using your card at a ‘hole in the wall’ to get some money out is safe and secure? Think again! IP-ATM Security has just released some curious information regarding just how safe those in the wall money dispensers really are.
The report cites three main threats to ATMs: internet protocol (IP) worms; disruption of the IP network and denial of service; and the harvesting of consumers’ transaction data for malicious purposes. The latter could result in hackers being able to collect consumers’ personal details, such as their card number, account balance and transaction history.

7am:- My alarm goes, set to Radio 2. I get up and take my dog, Jake, out for a run in the nature reserve close to my house, which also happens to have the largest lake in Hampshire. I use the opportunity to indulge myself with some bird watching too.
